    Rain down the barrel?

Hey guys 17 years old from Nova Scotia here. I know getting debris in the barrel of your rifle can be catastrophic so you need to make the sure the muzzle out of the mud and everything. I’m wondering if the same danger applies to rain? I’d like to take a walk in the woods with my muzzleloader...

Paper cartridges in a rifled gun?

I basically just want to do this to have a bunch of "rounds" at the ready. I would tear the end off and pour the powder down then ram the rest of it in. Using the paper as a wad/ patch for the ball. I have a bunch of lead balls which is what I would be shooting. They work fine with patches. I...

Paper cartridges in a rifled gun?

I intend on biting or tearing the end off then pouring it down first. Then having the convenience of having the ball already wrapped. Then I would just ram that down. So the powder wouldn't be any different. Sounds like from your response and this other person that it should be perfectly fine...

Paper cartridges in a rifled gun?

I have a traditions deerhunter. Is there any reason I can't make paper cartridges for it? Even though it's rifled? I plan on lining the outside of the paper with lube. So I can't really think why it would be a problem but I don't want to do anything dangerous so I'm just asking for people with...

    Sabots in deerhunter?

Ok thanks for the info. What would you recommend in terms of amount of powder so they latches don't tear? I'm buying a ball starter anyway so doesn't matter if they're pretty tight. I will be hunting rabbits with just 20 grains of powder until the season is over. Buy for coyotes il go all in...

    Sabots in deerhunter?

So what would be a good option for something more bullet like? Although patched balls are fine with me so it doesn't even really matter. When you say tight fit and a charge that won't strip the patch. What do you mean "strip the patch"? Thanks.

    Just bought my first rifle

Easy. It's expensive but don't need a license (surprisingly) and there is 1 place 20 mins away from me that sells Goex. And then Cabela's does and 1 other place that actually sells flints which is amazing.

    Just bought my first rifle

I am young so I legally have to hunt with someone 18+ anyway. They don't have Flintlocks but I have some older friends who shoot muzzys. Iv been researching Flintlocks for weeks now and had previous knowledge on how they work too. I know enough to shoot safely but more experienced people will...

    Just bought my first rifle

I'm under 18 and I live in Canada 😂 but Iv also been interested for a long time so I think I would have gotten a flinter even if it wasn't my only option.
