    Old Ensford

Good plan. Just curious as to when that was put into stock. Supposedly Estes is planning to go into production again, and it would be very encouraging to learn that a local supplier in the Midwest actually had some of the new stuff in stock. Let us know, if you please! Also is it Old Ensford...

    New here, need some advice.

Find a blacksmith if you really want to case harden the frizzen. He'll likely use a product called Kaseknit. Most likely yours is made out of a low carbon steel and cannot be hardened by heating and quenching. There are some smiths out there who will swear by different formulations of...

    Old Ensford

You also double-posted. It is Old Eynsford, made by Goex. I would make a phone call first and make SURE it is in stock before I drove an hour to get it. It has been out of production since the fire, so likely that the dealer is out of stock. If they do have some though, it would be well...

    stripped out screw hole

Fill the hole with Plastic Wood. Use a needle or something to make a new pilot hole while it is still soft. When it hardens, screw the screw into the new pilot hole. If you strip the Plastic Wood, then you are trying to hard.

    musket caps available

Don't believe there is any such cartridge. There is a .32 S&W Short and Long, a .38 S&W and a .38 S&W Special... but this is the wrong place to discuss such things I guess.

    New stain idea

@James Kibler is right, food coloring will fade quickly. The manufacturer never intended it to last very long, though it seems to be working pretty well for me with my powder measures. The main enemy is UV light... which is part of the sunlight spectrum. This is why color photographs fade if...

    Antler powder flask for pistols.

Well, the only thing I might suggest is that you maybe carve the volumetric weight into it somewhere. You could maybe dye it a different color if you want, but it looks pretty good as it is.

So how many different wild meats have you killed, cooked and eaten?

Why stupid? Hey, meat is meat. Now, trying to run one down and catch it.... that would be stupid.

    T/C Hawken with Blued Furniture

TOW sell iron furniture replacements. Original Hawkens might have had brass or iron fittings, though I have never seen one with brass fittings. Honestly, I prefer the iron fittings on my Renegades to the brass ones. With brass, you either have to keep polishing it or let it tarnish and I have...

SOLD Kit Gun Parts.45 cal $125.

Not an Austin & Halleck, but it just might have an A & H Mountain Rifle barrel on it. They were Spanish-made if I remember correctly and how well it shot was kind of a crap-shoot.

Thompson Center Hawken hurts my face

I have an older T/C Hawken that does not have a cheek rest which fits just fine. The newer one makes me press my face into it to the the sights aligned and then slaps me sometimes. Renegades and New Englanders don't have that issue. T/C should never have made the cheek rest maybe?

So how many different wild meats have you killed, cooked and eaten?

Whitetail Deer Frog Various fish Rabbit Squirrel Chinese pheasant Hungarian partridge Wood duck Mallard duck Raccoon Grey squirrel Fox squirrel Pine squirrel Chipmunk Ruffed grouse Mystery meat I'm not certain what the mystery meat was, and though I did not kill it, I did eat it. It was served...

    Missing Sight

Try a threaded shotgun bead. Most gunsmiths have a selection in different sizes and threads. Likely that is what was there originally.

    Truck Gun?

While I can understand wanting to have a gun handy for whatever reason, a brass-framed percussion revolver is a poor choice for defensive use... the only reason you might want to store one loaded. I'd suggest putting it in a case unloaded and keep a small possibles bag with you that has all the...

who is this famous person and what are the guns?

I'm in the Buffalo Bill camp, but I'll leave the gun identification to the folks here who are smarter than I am. Many early photographic processes, i.e.: the tintype, ambrotype and the Daugerotype produced images that were reversed left to right. If you wanted an image that would be "correct"...
