    Percussion Caps Found

The cap quest makes us do strange things. But I am surprised they had such things in that area. Good decision to stop there.

    Percussion Caps Found

I got lucky and caught them here in Pulaski while they were being stocked back, I think, in August for 5.62. haven't had any since. Checked Lawrenceburg a couple times too but I don't reckon they ever got any. Didn't even see a place for them there.

    redneck rifle rest (modern)

One could bolt that sucker down to a piece of 2x10. Then cut a channel in a piece of 2x4 or 4x4, line it with leather or felt, and it just might work pretty good.

    Trade gun for grizzlies

Not a bear but I did get charged by a pi$$ed off four point white tail about 25 years ago. Been sitting just below the top of a hill in the woods since before daylight and, Around 11:00, still hadn't seen anything. Decided to move and went to the top of the hill behind me. It went into a clear...

Raw wool instead of flax tow

As stated earlier, I've used it for some time now. The question was simple: is wool good... My gun never exploded. Game ends up just as dead. Patterns look good on paper. It is simple to keep up with and use. I don't know about the historical significance of wool being used for wadding. Nor do I...

Raw wool instead of flax tow

I have only use raw wool in my smoothies. Over powder and shot. Works great and it's all I've used the last couple years. I buy it from a couple different guys on eBay and it runs 12-15 bucks for a priority envelope stuffed to the gills and free shipping. Doesn't take much so one pack will last...

    Wooden Powder Horn

The powder kegs back in the day were wood mostly. Shouldn't be a problem but I don't know from personal experience.

Who Hunts Reg Seasons With Their Muzzleloader?

Since I started shooting BP back in 94 my hunting was a pretty even mix between modern and black powder until 2016. In 17, once BP season ended, I decided to finish out the year with my .50. haven't hunted with a modern gun since. Big and small game. I no longer have any desire to hunt with...
