Got #11 CCI caps in Walmart today

Our black powder items are going to be price increasing from now on under this current Administration we are under. I don't like being held hostage to greed ! It's even hitting the rock sparkers for flint prices doubling.

Got #11 CCI caps in Walmart today

Talked to Sporting Goods sales in Marshfield, Mo. This morning & they are not getting any percussion caps. Last year i found 5 tins on the hook there. I have to go down to Hot Springs Ar. in couple weeks. So i will stop at several stores hoping to find the golden Tins !

    Woodsrunner Question?

I have considered the Kibler kits. It's great work he has done for the masses. Patch box is a no go for me, & several other things because i am not a period correct person. I love rock sparkers but i will have to get mine made the way i need it to be. Possibly end up a pipe dream.

It's a bummer, plus you like me get to hunt Oct. 11-13 antlerless with M L's if you want. Do you need some caps ?

    The powder ran out first...

Yes indeed looks like you had a grand hunt. As a boy in Northern Calif. I hunted the Bandtail pigeon wild for eating with my .410.

Personally i dislike a patch box, at this point in my life i won't buy another one that has it. Rather do without it.

    Lets discuss small bore guns

I started sighting in with my peep & fiber optic red front sight. Took 10 shots with adjustments along the way. I am now hitting the orange dot 1.5" dia. at 25 yards off my sandbag. My front bead covers the dot at 25 yards, i have not set target out to 50 yet to see the view.

    Lets discuss small bore guns

I was out early this morning, just trying out loads as in grs to see how the Butt stock feels for recoil & angle as i go higher with my charges. I shot 45 & 50 & 55 grs. Recoil is fine. The Butt angle isn't exactly what i am liking. Will modify it this week.

I am going to try it on one or more starting Oct. 11-13 antlerless gun season. In the morning i am going to up the charge to 45 gr & everything else stays the same. I have just enough 19 year old Goex to do the 5 shots of 45 gr each. Then i will have to go to my Graf's 3 F

Talk about small bores, i shot my Under Hammer .40 this morning. Now i have a red dot on mine & it's a 4moa, it's all i have at this time. I shot at 25 yards off my table with a sand bag. 5 shots no swabbing until i cleaned it. 40gr Goex 3F with ww over powder & a sized .397 200 hard cast...

    Woodsrunner Question?

Most of us have looked at the older era of Flintlocks & saw in pictures & Museum's these in rifle & Trade gun form. Believe there were way more people who were on the poorer side the than well to do & rich !Plain stocked models were the most common you would have seen. Personally admire a nicely...

    The Sherriff got it done!

I like your kill on the tick toter using your revolver/pistol. I am practicing with my 1860 New Army .454 round ball 30 gr T7-3F. Hitting playing card with support at 35 yards. I shall try a fat Doe in Oct. 11-13 3 day season. Congrats on your fine deer.

    Lets discuss small bore guns

I have owned a T/C Cherokee in the .32, it did not light my fire. The Senaca on the other was a ripe peach in the .36 cal. I see that T/C is being revived & being told they will again be making the Traditional models. If they make a Senaca again in the .36 i will buy one & hang on to it.

    Straight vs swamp?

My thoughts i have an Under-Hammer with a straight 32" barrel at 7/8" in diameter in a .40 cal. It's at the point of weight i would not want anymore length because of the weight while i hunt. Either a Swamped or a Taper would be better if your barrel is going to be very long & thick. I have a...
