FOR SALE Short Land Brown Bess 23rd Fusiliers

I took this gun in on trade a few years ago and have done nothing with it. The story that came with the musket is that that Tower of London commissioned 500 of them. This is number 221. I don't know what company built them but it is quality work. I don't think it's ever been fired. The 23rd...

Suddenly started getting pan flash ?

If the pan flashed and the vent is clear, the rifle should fire. I believe those rifles have a recessed breech. Try cleaning the breech.

What to use for a powder measure?

Using a powder flask is pretty low risk. During the Civil War there were millions of rounds loaded and fired using a flask. I not saying it didn't happen, but I never read anything about flasks blowing up.yl 2 cents.

    4f priming powder...

S Static electricity will not ignite black powder. Larry Pletcher did testing a number of years ago and there is a video somewhere. He did articles for Black Powder magazine.

    Muzzleloading myth busting

I saw a beautiful Netting fowler blow up last summer. The barrel I believe was nuclear grade hydraulic tubing. Years ago I watched an inch and a quarter across the flats barrel bulge after firing a short started ball. His stupid display was not only misleading, it was irresponsible and dangerous.

    Muzzleloading myth busting

I've seen guns blow up that were short started. It's not pretty!

"Beware of the man who shoots one gun" try concentrating on one rifle.

For anyone considering an Indian manufactured Flintlock

It's probably done to get around the need to get a gun manufacturers license. Even Kibler sells his locks separate from the kit.

SLOW MOTION MUSKET SHOT AT CUIRASS AND BALL IMPACT

No, it's not common. He had terrible ignition problems. You can see the powder flying out of the pan before ignition. Cool video though.
