    Gun show prices

I am almost afraid to get my very expensive (?) C&B guns using very rare caps and expensive powder and shoot. Oh well what the H E double tooth picks (family friendly) as pretty as they are to look at they are funner to shoot. So I will shoot them I will, and those with out caps can eat their...

IF you can find the components to load it otherwise get a good sword, they never run out of ammunition Bunk.

    Nipples

Regular RWS 1075 but I may have been wrong. On absolutely clean nipple a 1075 seemed to fit but I did not have time to check as I had capped the nipple unloaded off the gun and did not have time to put things back together. The dinner bell rang and I DO NOT miss supper. Bunk

    Colt Walker question?

If it is something that might bite, I would suggest an unmentionable with a very large hole in the barrel. Fun is fun, but think things over. PC or ER. Bunk

my "dry fire" is a first strike FTF. Sometime the first strike is a "wet fire". Exciting Bunk

    Nipples

I opened one up and tried to replace ith a OEM spring, but it has a hammer stop and it is a tiny bit too thick. Possibly thinning the tip may make the difference we shall see. I will go for reliability with plentiful caps ( i have a lot) over a little lighter hammer pull. Bunk

    Nipples

I am glad for you. I will try 1075's again in a day or two.My memory, such as it is, was not much luck with them. My gun is match conditioned and the mainspring is lighter. That may be the difference. Bunk

Burnish with great care. very great care. The difference between work and junk is minuscule trust me on this.

    Nipples

Slixshot nipples are great and do solve a lot of cap jam problems. The trouble is is they are engineered to fit Remington #10 caps. Trust me on this CC! #11 caps work most of the time CCI #10 and RWS 1075 DO NOT WORK on Slixshots at all and I have tried a lot. Good luck Bunk

    Nipples

other than Slixshot from Badman Bullets contact Track of the Wolf for help. They fixed me up with excellent quality nipples. But be sure to get a wrench that fits. Their number PIR-LS has shoulders a bit wider than the originals and fortunately I hada wrench that fit. Good luck Bunk

Jaegermeister you hit the nail on the head. If I was not about a half bubble off center i would be shooting those unmentionable 110 year old all steel thingies. Instead my C&B all steel (minus the grip) shooters would not be on the bench waiting to be loaded .Bunk

    Round ball with sprue

yes Lee ball moulds make the sprue almost invisible and I doubt the difference in accuracy would be noticeable but I am not that AR since all I want to do is KD a 6" plate on a rack 30 feet away. Bunk.

    My new 1860 snub nose.

aother thing discovered is using a small wet patch that rod also makes a cleaning rod to wipe out the arbor hole in the cylinder, clean the arbor hole in the barrel, wipe out the chambers, and wipe out the short .44 caliber barrel. It is handy as the handle on a hot cup.

    Another Goonerized 1860 Army

My pair of 1860 Army's that Mike did some years ago now have a total of very close to 1,000 rounds, and by using Remington #10 on the Slixshot nipples there has not been a cap jam. Just to see if he could prove his brag I have kept a barrel record of every shot fired and they just work so much...

    No Bang on 1st Strike.

It was an anomaly and the hot gas escaping through the nipple did extensive damage. However since stercus accidit I will continue to use a capper and a brass rod to firmly carefully seat the caps. Yes they are PERCUSSION caps and crushing usually will not set them off but I would encourage...

    Another Goonerized 1860 Army

The Slixshot uses REMINGTON # 10 caps. The CCI #11 works usually but not as well. There is no standard for with percussion caps. like center fire primers (sorry Zonie). Remington #10 cap and the Remington #11 are the same size but the #11 has a shorter skirt. The CCI #11 is about the same size...

    Another Goonerized 1860 Army

Beautiful Mike does good work for sure. Did you get the coil spring bolt and adjustable trigger pull modification? Add Slixshot nipples and reliability is like an unmentionable if not better. Bunk

    No Bang on 1st Strike.

I saw a picture of and it pretty nasty. He lost the thumb back to the joint. His alias is Cuts Crooked and he posted it on the Cowboy Action City forum a couple of years ago as i recall. Admittedly it was an anomaly but I use a capper and that brass loading rod thingy to seat caps. Bunk
