    Substitute powder

The 3 Walmarts closest to our Pond-D do not have firearms at all. One still has ammo, and air rifles.

    Powder Dispenser

We use a old lid and a 5.56 case. Cut the base off, split the bottom 4-6 times, drill a hole in the lid, stuff the case thru and peen the bottom to the case to the lid. Some use rod and flux and seal the two together. I have two of these made in the 90s. Also use it to fill my powder horns

Will this leather work for a cows knee?

Out here in the Pacific North Wet, hunting season is rain season. The only thing Ive ever used on the pan is a crayon. I coat the lid of the frizzen, and the top ridge of the pan. Ive gotten clack bang every time.

    Brass

My brass was raw when I build my rifle. I took it down to 800 grit, then used Brasso to polish it. Every year of two I use some Brasso on it. Too many years in the Army, I like sparkly.

    What caliber rifle to get?

Caliber: I started with a 58 which I bought, sold it, bought a 54, gave it away to a woman that could not afford one. Built a 45 cal. Dont need nothing else. The amount of powder you use makes a difference. MOST new shooters and some older ones use way to much powder and the unburnt just goes...

    Loading cap & ball revolvers

Load the revolvers right from the flask. Been doing that way until I started making paper cartridges. I have a 30gr spout. I put a guitar pick over the end, open the lever, invert the flask, fill the spout. Flip it back vertical, remove the pick and pour the powder into the cylinder. I use...

Those look just like a guy we knew at rondy back in the 2000s. We thought it was silly, but he swore by them.

FOR SALE Arrows Moccasin Company French Canadian boots/souliers

Ive had that same pair of boots since 1994. Wear them to every rondy and hunting. The first week long Rondy we went to in the 90s was at the famed Flying M in OR. It rained for 5 straight days. I got the dry socks award. The only one of 350 odd pilgrims that had dry socks the entire time.

    Experiments with paper cartridges

I got into making these. The one thing Id like to share is I use a powder drop for BPC :-O, so I tired it on my revolver paper carts. A few days ago I started on a new batch of 50. I did the first one by hand it looks baggy and shorter than the other ones. Im sticking worth the drop, it compacts...

    Wax,,,oil,,,???

Anything with petroleum oil in it, stay away from. I did my wood with tung oil almost 20 years ago, it has not needed anything since. I too use T/C 1000+ on the metal, inside and out. Smell purdy too

    What caliber rifle to get?

My 45 cal shoots 777 in the barrel ONLY. Use 4f only in the pan. I did it once just to see how it was. I reserve the 777 for the six shooter. I like 40 and 45, but here you can not shoot deer with 40, so 45 won out. Smackem down real good. and when you run out of 777 buy some holy black.
