Added a fiber optic for when the eyes get older for my smr.

I picked it up at a gun show years ago. It was a lyman mold. My 40 with that combination needed 60grs 3f. It to was a 1:48 42inch barrel. I think there ar some mold makers than can make a .400 mold.

30 or so years ago when i competed my 40cal green mtn barrel shot best with .018 ticking and a 403 roundball. It was a shooter and i miss it.

i'll be out there with everyone else. looks to be a wet one, gonna be using the lock cover and balloon this year

thanks guys. when i get to hobby lobby ill get some strapping.i want to make it where its easy on easy off that way when i have something to drag i can attach the sling and carry the rifle on my shoulder. i will post a pic when i make it.

i think thats the company that made the ones kibler sells. i have one and it works great.

Im looking for suggestions on a woven strap about 2" wide to make into a sling for my smr.

I use 65gr 3f in my 45, i believe 50 will do the job, just take iut its lungs

Try a 3 to 1 water ballistol. You need more lube.

I use a 4 to 1 water and ballistol dry patch method at the range and hunting. The gun likes it so why change. It hasn't given me any problems.

I use 3f and 4f and notice no difference between the two.

I had one that did that. different rifle same problem. couldn't find any stock interference so i took the lock apart and laid the lockplate on the flattest surface i could find and had a slight bow in the plate. took the bow out and filed the plate surface to finish and polish it, put it all...

I have used french, english and chert. I honestly cant tell a difference.

Ground some humps off some flints today and tried out a new lead pot my brother gave me that i evidently bought 30 some years ago and forgot about and its like new. Happy Me

in my 40 i ran a 403 ball and it shot lights out. won many a match with that rifle. shoot what works best and its not un common to shoot a bore size ball. i now shoot a 45 using a 451 ball as that shoots the best in my rifle. Good shooting

i use both sizes in my smr and they work equally well.

I like to hunt with the most accurate load the gun can give me regardless of the powder charge. you don't need a howitzer to kill deer just a well placed shot.

I always run a lightly dampened patch between shots regardless of hunting or target shooting.
