I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying the front of the arbor is round on an original and flat on the 2nd gen?

I thought the same thing.....that would be wild. However I agree. I would not separate the parts. They have been together too long.

They have a cool stickied thread over on the Colt forum. It is 1860's that are lettered. They have one list that is 3 numbers lower than the grip/frame on the one I'm buying. They also have one that is about 125 #'s lower than the barrel. Both were sent to the same volunteer MD cavalry...

Here are some pics I was able to grab. It was in the back room of the gunshop so the light is not the best. The frame is marked, cylinder also. Frame marking looks correct. Cylinder engraving is well worn. There are some letters/numbers on it but the scene is well worn.

One thing I would do is post a WTB add here on the forum BUT be very careful of scammers. Only deal with guys that have a solid history here.

That is something newly added. There was a rash of scams a few months back. There are still some that pop up. That is why the warning and the requirement to post user name/date in a pic. Not about you specifically. If they were size 13, I would buy from you.

Stan, I'm surprised that there were relatively few 1860's left after the ACW. You would think that there would be many. However, I bet you are correct and many walked off. The gun does have the look of a rebuit/reworked gun. Fits well, tight etc. Patina is all the same but of course it...
