    I have one of each unfortunately my Lyman was a factory build and my Gemmer is a kit build that someone else put together. It would be unfair to draw a conclusion to your question from them.

    As others said there are ways to store it inside safely. However, if you are insistent on storing it in a shed it will be ok as ling as you keep it dry. It will not deteriorate or go bad in any way.

    I know that Lyman measures for loading black powder suppositories uses an aluminum hopper. I have no experience with any of it but I would wager that if Lyman knew having aluminum in contact with BP would cause damage or a safety risk they would not use it. Now that is not really a moving part...
