    Kibler Woodsrunner Assembly Progress

I took my Kibler,s extra fancy curly maple down to 800 grit before dying and again afterwards to polish the grain. Followed by 5 coats of Truoil. It’s jewelry to me :)

    The Future of Traditional Muzzleloaders?

"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is foolishness with them. As for...

    First attempt at a horn

I have a cheap eBay horn. Bought it on a whim, but never liked much. After seeing all the fine horns on this forum, maybe I could do a complete rebuild on that horn, maybe try some of the techniques horn makers here do so well.

    The Future of Traditional Muzzleloaders?

And maybe in 300 years, the guns we now have will become serious collector items. With better metals and better cleaning options they may well age beautifully

    The Future of Traditional Muzzleloaders?

Nerdy, I prefer creative anachronism! I’m not worried about the future of muzzleloading, in 300 years there will be smoke poles along side whatever the masses are shooting then. Phasers maybe :) they are just too cool!

Bend the hammer or set back the barrel ?

Thanks Notchy Bob for reposting Zonie’s CVA printed piece! It is far and away the best and clearest description of the breach I think I have

Bend the hammer or set back the barrel ?

I too had that issue of the hammer dropping a tad forward of the nipple. I used the Drexel route on the forward area of the cup until I could slowly drop the hammer without interference with the nipple. Then discharged 30 or so rounds, seating the breach. This Traditions Kentucky is my favorite...

    Finally ordered a Kibler Woodsrunner!

I too built a Kibler, a Colonial. It became my favorite first time out! 50cal rifled 25 yards .015 patch 49cal ball and 60 grains of black powder and a peep on my shooting glasses.

    Unloaded muzzleloader at the range?

The range I shoot at is good at calling 2 minutes till range gos cold. I get my flint lock discharged well enough, I was just wondering how to display a cold flintlock, caplock? I shoot both at this range. I lay the caplock at half cock with no cap on the nipple. And the flintlock with frizzen...

    Unloaded muzzleloader at the range?

The range I shoot at has process when the range gos cold. All receivers open and a bright red plastic flag like device threaded through receiver to demonstrate an unloaded condition. As the only ML there, I have no idea what to do with the flag thing. As the RO walks the line, they just shake...

    Best Range Rod Suggestions

I went at a range rod sorta backwards. I bought Treditions (sp) cleaning kit with 3 piece brass rod. Discovered it was too short for my Kentucky long rifle, so I bought another. My Kentucky takes 4 sections, and my Colonial’s 47” barrel takes 5. I used the 6th section to replace the aluminum on...

Broomstick I applied one coat of Truoil after finish sanding/buffing. It’s amazingly, the horn went from pretty much black to classic black lacquer!
