    What mistakes have you noticed in movies/tv shows that happen in the BP era like Daniel Boone, Patriot etc?

    In the old Cromwell movie with Sir Alec Guinness and Richard Harris, the cannons emit these tremendous plumes of fire and black smoke which looks like burning gasoline. In Cold Mountain painfully obvious rubber bayonets flopping around. And it kills me when an arrow in the back or a random sword...

    This is "Long Tom" a flintlock smoothbore which belonged to Buncombe County pioneer Daniel Smith, on display at the display at the Smith-McDowell House Museum in Asheville, North Carolina. Despite often being described as a "rifle" it is in fact a smoothbore, which appears to be around 10 gauge...

    WANTED Bronze/Brass barreled long gun, rifle or smooth bore

    Your best bet is going to be seeing if Bobby Hoyt or Jim Carpenter will make you a barrel, and finding a builder to build you a gun with it. There is a brass barrel rifle in Rifles of Colonial America to work off if you want.
