Hi everyone, I am wondering how thick a swamped .84 caliber rifle would need to be at the breech and the waist? What twist rate would work best for this size bore? Thanks!

SOLD Pedersoli .54 Early American Jaeger $1150

I would also like to add that I know this rifle has a 1:24 twist rate and I intend to run RBs and bullets. 1:24 is actually a correct twist rate for a jaeger, and I intend to find a load which works well with RBs.

I am Having a Scottish Musket Made

It is currently being built now. The one I am basing my piece on is LNA32 or R-12 from Scottish Firearms by Blair and Woosnam-Savage. This one looks more like R-24 and R-14 (which is also from the Seafield Collection.) The builder did a good job on this one! Is the lock actually a Snaphaunce and...

    Early Brown Bess Musketoon Examples?

Gus, This is exactly the info I was looking for! Thanks so much! Do you know if there were any artillery carbines produced during this time? I am specifically trying to avoid the "cut down" musket thing and specifically looking for muskets made with this design, like the examples you provided.

Thanks so much for your reply! What would be the difference between carbines and musketoons in 18th century terms? I will see if I can get this book on ILL. Thanks again! Tacksman
