As side from the English seeming to be the more traditional flint used..Is there any major diffrence between the two types of flints....? And why are they so hard to find... because hunting season is rolling around?

I am looking at the Kibler Woodrunner. I hunt white tail in Virginia, in fairly heavy cover. I am leaning towards .54 at this point

so does holding it over a candle to develop soot ..which can be pressed agains the wood as well

To me it sounds like this Pietta was converted to 45LC with a conversion cylinder and either a live round was left in the chamber or something else was loaded.. I doubt it wash a BP cap and ball.. there would have been too many warning signs to ignore, like percussion caps on the nipples.
