I may have thought that too, that the buyer was confused into thinking it was original. The thing is there’ve been at least three repro Paterson’s with all of them going for $2k plus. All three. My personal opinion is the buyers knew very well they weren’t original and that this is now the going...

Exactly the point of my post. While other Italian reproductions may have gone ‘up’ the Paterson repros have gone through the roof, selling at 4-5 times their value. Not Navy’s, not Armys, the Italian made Paterson. I can’t explain it.

One of the things which I don't enjoy about the various of Italian reproduction cap and ball revolvers is the grips, more specifically the grip finish. The grips of Uberti and other importers sometimes have a reddish look due to the lacquer they use. It's also applied too thick for my liking...

Can anyone make a musket nipple wrench suggestion for this rifle ? I ordered an RMC MUSKET NIPPLE WRENCH #ML080 which arrived today, unfortunately it dosen't fit, not nearly big enough.

The Paterson reproductions are selling for crazy money, this is the third I’ve seen a GB which ended in excess of $2k. Why this is happening I don’t know but it appears to be specific to the Italian made Paterson repros. For some reason those guns are selling on the secondary market for way more...

I did do them, in fact have worked on them a bit more since I posted the pics. I'll post new pics tomorrow so you can see the progression. As to method maybe I should start a separate thread so as not to further divert the OP's.

I feel your pain.

Here are a few pics. My initial impression was how light the rifle was. The walnut stock isn't as thick as the Italian reproductions, wrist feels like an original. Case colored side plate, good fit and finish everywhere. Am taking it to the range as soon as I find some caps!
