Ok I give up need help on AMS meaning

I'm glad to hear of a match that allows a rear peep sight. When I moved to eastern Oregon many shooters used them and encouraged me to do so. Therefore, when I built my underhammer I installed a Lyman adjustable peep. When I moved to western Oregon I could find only one club that wasn't hard...

    To go left-handed or not

My wife is right handed but left eye dominant. Also she is farsighted and wears glasses with progressive lenses. She found that shooting left handed, although awkward, works the best for her. Although normally doesn't score real high, once she placed 2nd in the women's trail walk at the...

    Dry ball removal

Many years ago I became NRA certified to instruct black powder rifles. I would purposely dry ball to gain experience with methods of removal. I always carry a CO2 discharger in my pouch, as well as a ball screw and metal pulling handle so in case anybody needs to remove a dry ball I can assist.

I do hope that you use a piece of surgical tubing to blow down the barrel without putting your face over the muzzle.

    Is FFFG the Cause

When I worked up the best load after building my rifle, I found that using 30 grains of Cream of Wheat as a filler between the black powder & patched ball DEFINITELY resulted in a tighter group. I don't really care what the patch looks like after firing as long as it isn't on fire or smoldering...

I like the colors in the finish, which is kind of similar to a metal artwork coat rack on my wall.

    How old are ya?

A few years ago I was buying some items at an REI store and the young clerk was amazed at my tattered paper membership card #00170XXX. He exclaimed that he had never seen such a small number. I replied, "Kid, I've got gear older than you! I got this card when the Seattle REI was the ONLY store."

Are Some BP Revolvers Just Not Reasonably Accurate?

The best load in my rifle is with cream of wheat filler. It has been so long since I shot my pistols that I can't remember the loads I used for them, and if I wrote them down, forgot where I put that info. Guess I better bench rest my pistols, and I'll try the filler.

The Tenuous Future of Living History

I've set up my primitive camp at various music camps. None of these events were reenactments nor at historic locations, but always attracted visitors and questions, especially from home schooled children.

    2f vs 3f

I noticed that your question is "for the same weight of 2f and 3f" which indicates that you know that typical black powder measurers in the field use volume, not weight. In my history I had access to a friend's loading room for high power cartridge rifles, equipped with accurate scales and a...
