I shoot paper for zero and Steel AR-500 Steel NMLRA .40 and under silhouettes out to 100 and the .45 and up out to 200. My favorites of all is a good woods walk with a mixture of targets. Not much in the way of woods walks available in Central VA these days.

I use 0000 for new barrels. The number of strokes depends on the tooling marks in the barrel. I use a bore scope to check out the barrel. I have tried the green and red pads but they don't cut as well in a barrel as the 0000. The steel wool can be wrapped on the brush to make it very tight...

I only use 16 grains in my full length rifle. Taken squirrels out to 40 yards. Eyes are my limitation not firearm. I have a Crockett 32, had to buy buckshot to get a ball that worked well.

I use 1/3 Rubbing Alcohol, 1/3 Hydrogen Peroxide, 1/3 Murphy's Oil Soap. Enough for about 5 years cost $8.00. Been using it since 1974, no problems.
