    Advice on touch hole liner

I concur with Crisco and Grenadier, especially if you have a fairly wide pan, there would be plenty of lee-way to move the hole a bit forward.

T/C renegade v/s CVA mountain rifle

Its too bad, about 15 years ago I picked up a mountain rifle stock that needed a barrel and trigger guard. I got them both from Deer Creek. They don't have any parts left any more. The barrel was one of their produced barrels supposedly from the machine purchased from Douglas barrel. It is very...

Performance difference between Goex & Swiss powder ?

I have only shot Swiss 3f in my .45 cal flintlock. My Goex load was 65 grains and shot same POI with 45 grains swiss. With he price difference, it came out close to the same cost per load.

    CVA Mountain Pistol .45

I have a .50 I bought as a kit when Deer Creek still had some 5-6 years ago. The only gun I ever put together and it shot point of aim right off the get-go. I like the beefy feel and boom as compared to my Traditions Kentucky pistol. I shoot 20 g 2f in mine.

    Graf's

If that is the new post-pandemic adjusted price for caps, it is what it is and we'll have to suck it up. I am down to about 1 1/2 -2 year supply of caps right now. I shoot my flintlock more lately to stretch those caps as far as I can.

Dad built this swivel barrel in the 70's

By all means keep it. Shoot it or not depending on your interests. But Keep it.

    A new personal best!

I had a whitewater raft for a number of years. The saying there was "Sometimes you're on the river, sometimes you are the river" Best to stay in the raft on the river.

    A new personal best!

I dry balled twice, double loaded once, sliced my thumb open changing a flint and then that flint broke in half on it's first shot. Guess what I did then?

    Copper cookware

Maybe I should say all "commercial" copper pots as I work in the foodservice industry. Used to be many bakers preferred a copper bowl for whipping egg whites. Health departments started frowning heavily upon that. I Worked with one pastry chef who kept his well hidden. The bowl was from the '30s...

    Copper cookware

Copper should not be used with acidic products. All modern copper pots are lined to prevent any reaction with the copper itself. You will not kill anyone but could potentially cause gastric distress with possible accompanying pain. The occasional fireside cooking should be fine, maybe just avoid...

My first kit build, traditions Kentucky pistol!

I think you will find it to be a good accurate pistol. I shoot a .45 ACP case of 2f (I believe 22-25 grains) and a .495 ball.

    New Oldstock Goex pistol powder

Our club came into some old Goex and even some Dupont cans. The powder still does what it is supposed to.

    ‘Kentucky’ by Pedersoli

If a .45 a .440 ball should be good. Being Italian the bore may actually be metric, like 11 mm. Which case a .430 ball may be the ticket.
