Hey everyone/unsure about some small cannons I got from my step father. Any help?

Quite the collection, it looks like a variety of combustible and maybe non combustible types. A couple appear to be black powder specific. The typical model black powder cannon may go for 150-200. The others I have no clue about as far as value.

    Seneca Run???

It is a scheduled part of our annual Primitive weekend. the past few years no one has opted to participate. Mainly because it is scheduled on our last day of the event and most guys just want to get finished and packed up. Ours is shot at 5 paper targets set over about 180 yard course.

    Old Remington percussion caps

Just finished up with a small supply of those that we were bequeathed. A tendency for the innards to fall out, but hey all shot fine.

Thompson Center 50 cal Hawken Flintlock...polish or not?

I'm in the keep the patina school. Rub the parts well with an oiled piece of denim or rough cloth. That will take off any topical oxidation but leave the patina intact.

    Stock Finish Other Than "Brown"?

I used a red stain years ago on a CVA Kentucky pistol and it was beautiful. Had a deep Cherry red color, wish I could remember the brand and color name.

    Bore brushing.

Shooting a patched round ball will not leave any lead build up. If using a brass bore brush, make sure you get the style that is twisted through the threaded mount not compressed into the mount.

Anyone care to share why it didn't go well..

More information please, like what is your powder load and ball size. 1/8 inch is too thin for a revolver wad. What is the purpose of putting Murphy's oil soap in the lube? A mix of tallow and beeswax should be good, the consistency of chapstick. If too runny it may compromise the powder.

Help - Looking for Flintlock tang screw help or a gunsmith

Impact driver or easy out. I would go straight to the easy out. You will be able to buy a correct size tang bolt from Track of the Wolf.

    Browning a lock?

You can do it with a vice grips, but it is risky (think spring ricocheting all over your work area). Secesh has listed the preferred option.

    Browning a lock?

You disassemble the lock and brown the hammer/cock and the lock plate (only the outside and edge. Oh, and the screw that holds the hammer to the tumbler.

    CVA mountain pistol kit

I think your price guess is right on. Deer Creek still had their versions, which were repackaged CVA kits up till about 5 years ago. They sold them for $150, I bought 2 at the time.

Problem getting spark thru to powder... Help!

My variable mileage; When I clean my CVA/Traditions rifles I submerge the breech end in a bucket of warm soapy water. I pump water in and out with my range rod and patched jag. Then I remove the nipple and clean out screw. They come out easily after the water soak. I simply oil them when...

Traditions Shedhorn failing to set off #11 caps

Not the caps, classic too big of a nipple issue. Above poster is correct, 1075's are slightly smaller than #11 caps. Chuck your nipple in a drill and run it against a flat file. A little at a time, check for fit and repeat. I have done this multiple times over the years.. My latest supply of...

Thoughts on Intercontinental Arms Kentuckian Pistol

Decent quality, 150-200 if the bore is not rusted. You won't find replacement parts.

    Need help identifying my rifle

A contemporary build. There could possibly be some marks on the barrel that would indicate the barrel maker. Not a well informed build, probably someone's first attempt. Looks like it could be reworked into a prettier rifle.

    Ammunition for a muzzleloader.

Unless you have a military type musket, you don't want a minie ball. A conical, yes. If your rifles have relatively shallow rifling, paper patching will work well. If deeper rifling, paper patching is not the best choice. You have a lot of experimenting ahead of you.
