One of three new clips Mr. Kibler will be posting showing assembly of the new Woodsrunner kit.

    Michigan muzzleloader hunting..

I agree that the way black powder hunters have been short changed by the new regs in southern Michigan is outrageous, but I also understand why the DNR has made this decision. Zone 3 in the southern part of the state simply has too many deer and too few hunters. The new regs are a effort to...

    How old are ya?

    Kibler colonial kit

@Zutt-man: lovely work! I searched for your build along thread referenced earlier in this thread, but couldn’t find it. Could you please post a link? I’d also like to hear about your results using the .58 Colonial with shot loads. What kinds of patterns are you getting? I’m thinking of doing...

    First smoothbore

My situation as well. My Woodsrunner will be here in a week or two, and that should occupy me for a while, but if we don’t hear some solid news about the Kibler fowler soon I will be ordering a smooth 58 Colonial.

    kibler fowler

I‘m wondering if this means a year until they begin taking orders, or a year until the first fowlers will actually be available.

    SOLD T /C Seneca Barrel

Selling a .45 cal barrel for a Thompson Center Seneca percussion rifle. This is from an early rifle, and is not marked as a Seneca. The exterior is in nice clean condition, but the bore is terrible. I have not tried to salvage it, and if you’re looking for a project, go ahead and try, but my...

Pictures of Kibler Woodsrunner Fully Assembled

I’ve been following your progress on this rifle with interest, since I have the exact rifle on order for early spring. Yours turned out beautifully. I know you expressed some nervousness about tackling the carving, but the finished product looks great.

Had a good afternoon in Western, PA

Good shooting! Several years ago I shot a really big doe during our late December antlerless season in Michigan. It trotted past at twenty yards and I bleated it to a stop and dumped it in its tracks. In its last couple twitches, it moved a hind leg forward, exposing a rather large set of...

    Hunting with a percussion rifle

Always on half cock. I took a fall in the woods last week while tracking a friend’s deer. My gun didn’t take the brunt of the impact, but it made me thankful that my hammer wasn’t resting on top of the cap where it could cause an accidental discharge.

Great book: Hunting Expeditions of Oliver Hazard Perry

Field & Stream did a little article on the book several years ago that provides a pretty fair summary of some of the highlights. https://www.fieldandstream.com/oliver-hazard-perry-toughest-deer-hunter-ever/

Great book: Hunting Expeditions of Oliver Hazard Perry

I’m reading a book that I think a lot of folks here would enjoy: “Hunting Expeditions of Oliver Hazard Perry.” Note: this is not the O.H. Perry who was the naval hero of the war of 1812. The author was born in 1817 and his family were early settlers in the Cleveland Ohio region. Perry came...

So let’s see em, what are you hunting with this season?

T/C Pennsylvania Hunter .50 set up with a Tang peep. No blood drawn yet, but we have until January 1 here in Michigan.

    Kibler Woodsrunner Assembly Progress

Thanks for posting these updates. Good closeup photos of the Woodsrunner model have been scarce, so it’s nice to see the detailed views of the tang, buttplate, etc. This is like the unveiling of the B-1 bomber.
