    Manton preccusion shotgun id

I agree with Post #6 it is a knock off. Think Hardware store gun. Also, a lot of barrels where proofed in England and Belgium as well and shipped here to be completed and sold. Most where cheap guns of decent quality to be used heading west. I own several and still hunt with them.

    Need help identifying this shotgun

I'll add my 2 cents first off price is very difficult without having in my hands to inspect. They are going up in price like everything else related to firearms today. Years ago, that would have been in an old whiskey barrel setting in the corner of the locale gun shop with several others for...

Not a real good view but I used cold blue (Casey) on this one. And have another that was built from a kit and is very nicely browned. Neither one is chrome nor stainless

    English fowler thumbpiece

Hey guys I don't want to steal post. Was a thumb plate used on a better build gun? I have several English double barrels some have a dime sized oval. Some have a similar diamond 💎 shape. Some nothing?. I believe my guns are common hardware store variety build in 1850's to 70's.

    carrying loose shot

I use a medium size shot snake that I made with an English style spout for 11/4 oz or 11/2oz of #4 or 5 or 6. I use a small one with a Irish spout for 1oz. or 11/8 loads of #71/2's or #8. They will fall thru the English style... I made the pouches smaller than the old Original's that I have...
