FOR SALE Buyer beware Reloading Depot

I always do a google search of a company I haven't used before, something along the lines of "Is ReloadingDepot.com legit? forum" It almost always has someone who has asked the same question and often times people with the answer. Seems like a ton of these fraud sites popped up around 2020.

    FOR SALE Kentucky pistol

Well if it’s between a complete loss and a complete loss send me the gun. I’ll try and get it running for free and I’ll ship it back to you on my own dime…maybe “someone” here needs a lesson on what being a good honest person looks like 👍

    FOR SALE Kentucky pistol

I’m wondering if the nipple is too short for some reason. Maybe find some medium that’s easily compressible, like clay or even a smushed up piece of bread. Place a small piece on the nipple and lower the hammer onto it and see how far it has compressed over the nipple. I’d imagine it would...

    FOR SALE Kentucky pistol

Here’s what I’m seeing. These two angles (red lines) look too far out of alignment to be aligned by the last bit of hammer travel. If you look close in the zoomed photo you can see a gap (yellow arrow). If you can rotate that part counter clockwise (white arrow) to close that gap it may create...

Flintlock or percussion for a first purchase?

A few thoughts… 1) Caps have been scarce but I’ve seen plenty recently. If you go percussion place a big order on caps and no more sweating. 2) You can make your own caps and I personally am a fan. DIY’s for fooling around and I run the real deals for taking game as the DIY’s aren’t 100%. I’m...

    Safely firing an antique gun

I do a lot of automotive work myself so something like this should have been on my wish list a long time ago. 👍

Did you miss the part where the seller has mysteriously disappeared? Looks like this may have been intentional. In which case trying to troubleshoot and fix the problem seems like a great idea to me.

Pull the lock off, take some photos of the inner lock components and start a new post asking for help. I’m sure there’s people that can help troubleshoot the issue.

FOR SALE Custom left Hawken. New lower price

I have a lefty shooter in my life and I can’t get her excited about BP no matter how hard I try, 😢. And her birthday is in two days, I wish I could get her something like this. Just gorgeous…🤤 It’s especially hard because so many fine LH BP guns end up with exceptional price tags as the market...

    Safely firing an antique gun

Blows through smooth with no resistance. I removed the nipple as well. Threads look clean, no corrosion, and it snugged back up well. The nipple itself appears to be quite new, flat base no tapers.

    Safely firing an antique gun

Any tips on the “make sure it’s not loaded” part? I can’t seem to figure out how to get a visual on the full length of the inside of the barrel. I tried getting a lit photo but it’s coming up very short.

    Safely firing an antique gun

These are some of the only photos I have at the moment. I don’t have any photos down the bore but I’ll get some. It’s a Henry Nock 16g. I’m whatever the opposite of an expert is, but from what I can tell it seems to be in quite good condition…but again, what do I really know.

    32 Crockett cleaning headaches

I'm not sure how to do that but any info would be much appreciated. Even when the stars align and I'm able to get through a cleaning cycle without any disasters the resistance is still very high. Maybe that would reduce friction overall?

    32 Crockett cleaning headaches

Kind of patches: Not sure, have a huge bag I’ve used for just about everything. Thickness: Again not sure but def thicker than the average t shirt. Size: 2” square and cut to size as needed. So usually 2” square to 1” square but for the Crockett I’ve been cutting them round to about the size...

    32 Crockett cleaning headaches

All good thoughts. I’ll shave my jag down even farther and open up the shoulder wider and deeper.

    32 Crockett cleaning headaches

Ok, that might be relevant as I distinctly remember each time being shocked at how bad it got stuck after minimal resistance on insertion. That would also potentially explain when i cut the rounds just small enough to have a tiny bit of overlap back over the jag that it works. But the catch 22...
