    Lets see some percussion revolvers!

I think it`s a Black powder series. On the base of the grip it is marked 1908. Top of the barrel says Sam Colt Address NYC or similar. serial 36XXX. side of frame says Colt patent. I know not very much about cap and ball revolvers other than the theory and how they work. Never fired one, don`t...

    Thin Walled Brass Tubing

^^^ used spent brass for everything. Ferrules, horn spouts, rivets as mentioned, cut open and flattened for a small sheet of brass, etc and so on

    Lets see some percussion revolvers!

Do colts have the date code? This one is not Italian made. I`lol look again for more markings but it`s pretty devoid of marks

    Lets see some percussion revolvers!

The dragoon is the first of many i think for me. Sadly, the reproductions are considered restricted firearms and must be registered here in Canada, whereas fireable originals are considered antiques, not firearms (unless used in a crime), fired anywhere non restricted and non registered firearms...

    Are you going to shoot??

Take the paper circle out with a toothpick. Gently. Put some FFFF black powder or the BP dust from the bottom of the can. in on top of the small charge thats in there and seal with some sort of binder. I used hairspray, but it does not last. Not much will stick to that type of plastic. I hear...

    Percussion Caps and Prime All

I have the Tap o cap, and have mixed results with DIY compounds- match heads, caps, etc. Really want to try this Prime all. Have not found a Canadian source yet.

    Considering quitting!

I just usually go to the waters edge, and throw the hooks in, have a cigar then leave. That’s what’s going to happen anyway

    Thoughts on a Cooey barrel

new plug made and fitted. I can live with the tiny gap at the tang. The steel came from the remains of a wheelbarrow i found in the bush behind my house. No idea how long it was there, but the rubber had rotted off the tire rim. the tang needs a tweaking with a file to straighten it out, then...

    doing stuff????

painted freshly drywalled basement, well half of it anyway. Once the baseboards are in and floor cleaned, all the junk from the other side of the basement gets moved so i can finish the drywall and paint that half. getting the house ready for market so i can move back out west

    side plate

LooKs good. Have not decided on a style for my little.22 yet. Being that almost all the bits, pieces and wood are coming from Newfoundland or have a connection, i`m looking for an idea in that vein.

    Thoughts on a Cooey barrel

Get to make a new breechplug. Figured i`d time it again to close the gap at the tang and barrel, and snapped the weld. Going to try again later with a wider topped tang. Will probably make more sense that way as it will be easier to match up with the centre line being that it`s a round barrel...

    Thoughts on a Cooey barrel

Have my lock. Bought from a member here. Looks a bit rough but cleaned up nice. It sparks quite nicely with a beat up old flint i had, i`ll try a new one eventually. It is now stripped down and am getting the stock prepared to inlet it. No idea of brand. Smooth plate resembles my MAVI .50 ...
