It had a very slight hesitation about halfway thru the hammer fall. I blued it and found the interference ( should be some) but it was only in one small spot. I stoned the fly to get ‘flatter’ profile and the hesitation on hamerfall went away. Even a blind pig finds some acorns, excellent...

Used a piece of drill rod 3/8s I think, used it with the same moves you would use draw filing. I seemed to press the raised stuff back in place without the p tracks I would have made with a hammer, then ’draw filed’ with 320 grit wet/dry wrapped around the file. Used Brownells OxphoBlue cold blue.

Found some pure linen material which works great with tighter fitting balls, -.495 vs .490, .535 vs .530, tighter weave than pillow ticking but a little thinner

In 55 yrs of burning the stuff I haven’t seen it happen.
