    Lyman Rifle Accuracy

80 yds is as far as I’ll shoot, this is 3 shots rested over the hood of my late truck, semi buckhorn open sites, 90 grs of Triple 7 2F, Hornady round ball, pillow ticking patch, mink oil lube. It represents a reasonable shooting position and my max distance, close enough for a roll in a gut...

    Times change

Both sets of my grandparents didn’t have indoor plumbing until the late 60s. If someone from the government had come along and told us we were poor we would have tied it to the rails…

I’ve been shooting perc revolvers for almost 60 yrs and I would NEVER carry one for self defense, neither would Hickock today. If you do, carry a police whistle as well, it might be useful in a cap jam or miss fire moment.

    Pedersoli Shotguns?

Ive owned two, 10 and 12 ga. both were fine performers. Price has nothing to do with how long it takes to turn them into stars but patience does.

Not sure if I can make this happen but…..

I have used nothing else in the woods for over 60 years, on 86s, 92s, 94s, 95, and Marlins and Savages. Now on my MLs. They are as quick as a shotgun. I think folks use too small an apture in the name of accuracy, I use a larger one in the name of meat.

    Scope mount hole fix

I would rather have a longer screw so the barrel around the screw is only minimally heated and you have precise control of the heating process.

    Scope mount hole fix

Yes, Brownell’s has a silver bearing paste that is great for things like this, ribs, ramps, etc.

    Scope mount hole fix

Degrease the hole and screw, tin the screw with silver bearing solder, screw it in with enough ‘extra’ length to stick above the barrel about an inch, then hear the end of the screw and watch the heat/melt work down into the hole. Let it sit for 20 min. cut the screw off, clean up the area.
