    I have one rifle that for some reason I need to run a dry patch followed by a oil patch down the barrel for several days after I clean it .My others don't need this but I always leave them out and re swab with oil patch a few days later just to be sure all is well

    Run the dog on as many rabbits as you can ad leave some for seed if you have exclusive running permission you should not kill many and make it hard to find a rabbit

    The patch is between the ball and barrel so it should not damage the barrel . I have been using W/W for maxi balls for 30 years with no problems and they are not hard to load

    You will love a smoothbore . Bobby did one for me about three years ago for $60 but most likely will be more now.

    I found out bye ordering one the height to top of barrel and found it to short then ordered on measured from bottom of dovetail and it was correct

    note that when you order most sights they are measured from the bottom of the dovetail not the top of barrel

    I had one in 32 kit and it made a very nice rifle but the lop was way to short for me so I traded it for something that fit me better and also it was a good shooter very accurate

    The alignment is not a issue if you glue it back first then drill after it dry's and put the dowel or rod in last for added strength
