MUST HAVE features on a possibles bag?

Hail friends, Black powder newbie here, designing a possibles bag which I will be putting together with my Uncle. I'd like to ask what 'features' you look for in a possibles bag, whether buying or making so that I might integrate some of them in my design. Pictured is a nice antique bag that...

Does anyone sell a Brown Bess bayonet for a 0.86" barrel?

No, but you can't outwardly tell the caliber. You CAN outwardly tell a French bayonet from a British bayonet though! This is very true, I would ideally like less work than that as I don't have a workspace to do any of that labor in with my current living situation.

Does anyone sell a Brown Bess bayonet for a 0.86" barrel?

I bought a Belgian clone of a Brown Bess and am trying to find an appropriately sized bayonet.> It's a .69 cal bore with a 0.86" outer diameter. A Charleville style bayonet would probably fit but wouldn't be technically correct for the musket.

If you could point me to any of those threads which had helped you along the way, I'd be interested in reading them to avoid any mistaked that have been made by those that went before ;)

.69 vs .75 out of a military musket - any difference in accuracy?

Sounds very interesting - has anyone written a guide specifically for glass bedding a musket?

.69 vs .75 out of a military musket - any difference in accuracy?

Interesting - Glass bedding the barrel ought not be too hard given there's no receiver or moving component other than the trigger. Would the improvements be great enough to merit the effort or would it be somewhat of an experiment?

.69 vs .75 out of a military musket - any difference in accuracy?

So the grand question - Is there a way to improve the barrel harmonics of the Bess without changing the outward appearance?

.69 vs .75 out of a military musket - any difference in accuracy?

Well well well - this is exactly my question. Is that anecdotal or based on any data? I am very interested.

.69 vs .75 out of a military musket - any difference in accuracy?

Oh no I did the thing, I meant musket but transposed 'rifle' owing to the length. I do know the difference, I promise ;) These are all good observations. As I am looking at procuring a .69 I was curious if I was missing out or stepping up on accuracy or neither, it seems neither.

.69 vs .75 out of a military musket - any difference in accuracy?

I understand the myriad of factors at play here (charge, wind, distance, etc) but lets say for a moment we have a Charleville (.69) and a Long Land Bess (.75). What sort of shooting performance would one 'expect' out of each in terms of accuracy? Would the smaller ball perform better or worse...

    Belgian Brown Bess repair

I think I first really caught the bug playing The Battlegrounds 1.0F, a revolutionary war game that was a free-to-play mod for Half-Life back in the early 2000s Here's some youtube footage (not mine). It was a real hoot. I also remember my first shot from a musket - my cousin put a lancaser 45...

    Belgian Brown Bess repair

Well met, friend. I am chatting with the 22nd, Glengarry Light Infantry and Royal Newfoundland Regiment – Bulgers Company & The Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada. Just have to work out rides to events as I am carless at the moment. Thankfully I have good friends who help me get to the range.

    Belgian Brown Bess repair

I did some google research based on FlinterNick's post. Coach Harness produced a reproduction bess around the ~1970s which is apparently well regarded enough to fetch 1130 USD at present auction, so it's remembered well. What I was surmising is that since these came from a show, they might...

I think he's suggesting the lock might be from said gun, not the whole gun being the Coach Harness. Come to think of it, the OTHER musket I posted conforms to the general shape of the CH musket but has an unmarked lock. I wonder if these are all mixed and matched from being used at the show?
