    Sitting Fox fails to deliver

Venting? As in drilling a touch hole? Milling- cutting dovetails? These are basic things you will need to do with many kits. They may seem complicated but are really simple skills to learn. Unfortunately, the incomplete kit issue is a common problem in the hobby. Some suppliers can take years...

SOLD REDUCED: "Committee Of Safety" Musket w/Lots of Accessories $1000 shipped

Here you are. The block only slips into the pouch, allowing it to be removed to access tools. Holes are 3/4". The spots on the surface are not mildew, just where the dye faded out a bit for some reason. I threaded the rammer with 10-32 threads, the tow worm is from Track of the Wolf...

SOLD REDUCED: "Committee Of Safety" Musket w/Lots of Accessories $1000 shipped

This was originally a 1970s Navy Arms Brown Bess. I believe it was assembled from a kit and has the Stowe 1776 lock. Pedersoli made the hardware and Navy Arms made the stock for these guns. Since the Navy Arms/Pedersoli isn't quite an accurate representation of a SLP Musket, and they were...

    Bend the sear bar up?

How is the sear at half cock? You might have no issue removing and replacing the lock that position.

    Hello from Maine

Just as a point of reference, Surry is not in the Mid-Coast region, but Acadia-Down East. Absolutely beautiful area, love the ride down to Stonington. Are you into historical stuff? I could share some things in your area on private messages if you are.

    Hello from Maine

Greetings! I second the Ancient Ones. We're a quirky bunch, but we have fun, and nobody leaves a Geezer Shoot hungry! What part of mid-coast? I'm in Brunswick.

    Gun range lead concerns

Hold a fundraiser to buy them noise-cancelling headphones. Seriously, if they didn't know of your existence before moving, that's on them or their realtor. Can't move next to a farm and then complain about the rooster.

WANTED Long or Short Land Pattern Bess

I have a Navy Arms/Pedersoli SLP King's Musket someone had made from a kit. I reworked it to look more like a musket made by a colonial 'smith in the years prior to the Revolutionary War. I'm willing to part with it as I just don't think I'm going to be doing much reenacting, and I have a 20ga...

Early American VA/PA Inspired Rifle- my first true kit build

Flintlock rifle, .50 cal. Maple stock. Not any particular school, but inspired by post-Revolutionary War PA/VA styles. Got it as a TOTW kit someone started and couldn't finish due to health reasons. It provided a few challenges to work through, such as a Southern Mountain style lollipop...

    How to polish this sideplate

Wrap 400 grit sandpaper around a wood block. Then go to 800 grit, which will give a decent finish. If you want it mirror bright, go to 1000 grit or higher.

    Thought I was sold....

Today's linseed finishes are nothing like those of old. As dave_person has described in a thread on the King's Musket, it could take days or weeks to dry and believes many guns were actually finished with a varnish. He suggests (and often uses) a wiping varnish. He uses Sutherland-Wells, but...
