    smooth bore salvage?

Yes, one of several cracks. Stock would need major work or replace. The gun looks very cheap which is why I thought it was an import from the 70s. But the barrel looks old but in pretty good shape. Octagon, 1.140 at the breech tapering slightly to 1.070 at the muzzle, 27.5 inches long. I...

    smooth bore salvage?

Hi everyone. I was recently given this old .58 smoothbore. Assume it is a poor reproduction but not sure. No markings at all but a bit of engraving on the lock. Any ideas what this is? The lock is toast and the triggers and guard are poor but the barrel actually looks pretty good, minor...

Is a 54 cal 47" swamped barrel too much of a good thing?

tighting a leonard day swivel breech rifle

Have a chance to buy a leonard day swivel breech 50 cal rifle. Have always wanted one but the owner says it is loose and may need new pins. Have read here that there is a way to tighten them up. Can anyone give me any particulars? Want to know what I'm getting into before buying. Thanks!

TEST: PRB accuracy in Jug Choked Smoothbore

Thanks for posting this roundball. I just got a 12 ga flintlock fowler and am anxious to work up some roundball loads. I also want to use it for turkeys. Suggestions for who might jug choke the barrel would be appreciated.

    45 or 50 caliber balls in a 10 gauge

I have an old heavy duty 10 gauge percussion shotgun. I'm just starting to see all the different possibilities it offers. I want to play with buckshot and also some big round balls. Has anyone tried anything in between like 45 or 50 caliber round balls? I'm thinking that about four or five...

    Pedersoli Kodiak Doubles

On my 72 I removed the silly double rear sights. There is only one screw holding it on and it looks fine with a plug screw in the hole. I then mounted a TC peep sight between the hammers. No regrets!
