    NMLRA Pistol Competition?

Thanks Guys  I've been a member of the NMLRA for several years now, but I just don't get much time to go to the shoots. I'll give them a call and ask for the shooting program book. More than anything I just want to make sure I bring what I need to shoot. I don't have any doubt that...

    NMLRA Pistol Competition?

I am wanting to get more involved in NMLRA pistol competition and I have some questions. How do the shoots breakdown? Do the flintlock pistols compete along side caplock single shots and revolvers? Which pistol should I start with? I've never been to one of these events so I apologize for my...

    Euroarms Enfield Musket

That's a good point. I thought I had pure lead, but it's possible I have something a little harder. I'll check that first thing when I get home from work. Thanks, David

    Euroarms Enfield Musket

O.K. A few months back I ordered a Euroarms 2-Band Enfield musket. I received it a couple weeks back but couldn't make it to the range until today. When I got to the range this morning I set up a target at 25yds. just to make sure the gun was on paper. The first shot was promising. Hit...

    New 20GA Fowler

I'm not sure. I'll leave that up to some of the more knowledgeable members of the forum. I know many of the smoothbores didn't have a rear sight. It's probably not that PC. I just intend to use it as a hunting piece for Turkey and Squirrel.

    New 20GA Fowler

I bought this 20GA fowler off of the classifieds recently. It was made Bobby Christian and I couldn't be happier with it. It has a 36" barrel and is very quick handling. Took it to the range this yesterday and it performed perfectly. I figured I would share some photos. Slideshow

Green goop in barrel when cleaning?

The fowling from my barrel has a green tint to it as well. I'm using Goex FFg and my lube is Ballistol. I mix a 6:1 batch of De-Mineralized water to Ballistol, soak the patches and then let them dry completely.

    First Deer with a Roundball

You guys may be right about the weight. I'm just guestimating. After gutting I'm sure he was less than 100lbs. He'll be deer chilli by next weekend.

    First Deer with a Roundball

I have some property in south central Missouri. A little town called Mountain Grove. It's about 60 miles due East of Springfield, MO. I tend to see a lot of deer. Just not a lot of big deer.

    First Deer with a Roundball

O.K. Here are the details. The deer was average size for my area. Around 125 - 130lbs. Thought it was a doe when I shot. Turned out to be a buck with no horns at all. The shot was about 30yds. 58 caliber roundball went right through the heart and out the other side. Never recovered the ball...

    GM Drop in Barrel Problem

Just thought I would run this by you folks. I have several Green Mountain drop in barrels for my TC Renegade. Up to this point I have never had a problem with them. My most recent purchase was a 58 cal. barrel I bought from Midway. When I dropped the barrel into the stock I noticed a...

Green Mountain drop in Barrels for T/C

Just bought a 3rd Green Mountain drop in barrel for the TC Renegade. I couldn't happier with their performance. My first was a .54cal slow twist barrel that is just a tack driver with 90gr. of Goex FFFg. I loved it so much I bought a .32 cal for squirrel hunting. Same results! This week I...

    Bullet Lube?

I have been using pre-lubed round ball patches for a couple of years now but would like to try making my own. I have access to some pillow ticking but was wondering if anyone had any home grown recipes for a lube to soak them in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    TC Renegade Flintlock?

I just purchased a TC Renegade caplock and ordered a couple of Green Mountain barrels for it. Does anyone know if TC ever made this rifle in a flintlock? I know I could buy the Hawken, but I'm not real fond of all the polished brass on it. I also like the single trigger and larger trigger...
