It is 4 feet in the barrel. Stocked in Cherry. The lock was made by an English gunsmith. The barrel is French. Swamped and 28 bore.

He was a student of all things muzzleloading and the author and Co author of many books. Especially British military firearms. His most recent collaboration was a book on British powder flasks. His Co author on this book was Ian Ford, also sadly deceased.

De Witt passed to the great rendezvous in the sky yesterday. He will be greatly missed, by all who knew him. I am proud to have been able to call him my friend

Just got a great book, by two of my friends. One you may already know- DeWitt Bailey and the other you pro won’t- Ian Ford.

I’ve shot right hand flintlocks left handed for around 50 years with no problems. No difference to shooting a flint double gun.

I just go to shoot with friends and camp on the primitive area. I travel from England to go there
