sorry about the confusion. Clelands told me they didn't have black powder the last time I was there. At the same time I called Cabela's and got the same answer. Today I called Clelands again. The lady said they do carry black powder. I'll go there this week and find out for sure.- Paint

I live in Toledo, Ohio and can't find black powder. Plenty of substitues but no black powder. I don't want to order and store 25 lbs-too explosive. Just want to try a pound. I've been to Dicks Sporting Goods, Clelands, Gander Mountain and several month ago called Cabelas. No one carries it...- Paint

Pietta 44 1858 powder charge
Purchased from cabelas. The Pietta manual says use 12-15 grains 3f. The Cabelas manual says 35 grains of black powder. The Traditions manual says 22-30 grains 3f. I believe the Pietta manual must be in grains weight and the other two in grains volume. This is a Pietta 1858 44 steel frame...
