    Scrimshaw attempt

Here I was reading all over the tip needs to be really pointed like a dental pick. Yours looks a little raspy. I guess the really pointed ones are good for very small lines

    Scrimshaw attempt

Made this out of a 1/8” drill bit. It never got hot enough to loose hardness.

    Scrimshaw attempt

I can't seem to get a deep enough line. I'm pushing pretty hard but after I ink and lightly sand some places don't hardly show up. Like there are harder places in different areas

The weaving Welshman did one for me back when he was in business. I sewed the leather on wish I was talented enough to weave

    Terry C. Johnston

I'm rereading the Titus Bass series. Carry the Wind was my first book of Mr Johnston's that I first read back in my 20's. Great author if you haven't heard of him.

    Recent post

Forgive me but i can not find the post here again. There was a recent post about a rifle that was built by kiebler, i believe. Had a hinged patchbox that the author said he was leaving for his son. The lid had his last name graved on it. My question after I looked at it was how did the builder...

My very 1st build about 15 years ago. Ended up selling it because of the jaeger lock. Shot really well though.

    Flint preference

I guess I've never seen the black ones or wasn't paying close enough attention.

    Storing Black Powder in Phoenix

Might be wrong but I'd think Arizonas low humidity would be better? I've got 18 year old metal cans in southeast Missouri that haven't been an issue..

    Broken sear tip, help!

It is very cool that someone still machines out locks made back in the 1600's. Imagine forging it out. Larry didn't charge me anything to fix this. He said he doesn't do credit cards but I'm going to mail him at least the shipping back to me.

    Broken sear tip, help!

One weird thing. He told me that lock had a replacement tumbler in it that wasn't his. I bought it new in a kit I think in 2014 and never completed it until now.
