    3F in a 50 cal?

    I have been told that 3f is better in a 50cal, 70 to 75 grs. Anyone with advice. I only switched to a 50cal flintlock a year or so ago.

    U.P. Deer Hunt

    Looks like I am going to the U.P. in Michigan for the first week of deer season. Hope to get a deer with my flintlock. The camp has 240 acres and no electric. All propane for lights and everything. Should be a very fun week. :wink:

    2010 Deer Hunt

    :wink: This year I have been invited to hunt the first week of firearms deer season in the U.P. I will be at a rustic camp near Republic, Mi. No electric, everything propane powered. Have bowhunted there but got no deer. The area is heavily wooded with some open areas, plenty of Deer food...

    Hunting pouch or Possibles bag

    I used to have one leather bag and kept changing items from 45 to 50 cal. Finally I got smart and got another pouch setting it up for my 50 cal. Hope this helps do away with the confusion.

    45 cal. Percussion

    I have a 45 cal Euroarms I bought about 40 years ago, have shot a few deer, the largest , a 10pt on my Grandpas farm, and a couple from 100yds. Now my Son hunts with it. Also ave a 45cal pistol kit to match it. :wink:

    50 cal. Flintlock

    My 50 cal. shoots well but I have yet had a chance to shoot anything with it. A friend whould builds and hunts with 50s told me to use 75grs of 3f and not 2f like they claim. He has killed several bears so he should know. :)

    Greetings from Michigan

    I hunt in Michigan most of the time but have been to Minnesota & Arizona. I use a 45 Cal. percussion long rifle and a 50 Cal flintlock.

    pedesoli rifles

    :wink: :wink: Anyone shooting a pedesoli rifle. I have a Blue Ridge Igot from Cabelas and so far it shoots fine. I also have a Pedesoli Kentucky pistol I built from a kit and I am satisfied with both. Plan to take them Bear Hunting this year.

    BEAR HUNTING

    :surrender: Has anyone hunted black bear with a flintlock rifle. If so, what state, type oof weapon etc. :)
