    My favorite would be my Sharon trade rifle in 54 caliber. I love those Sharon rifles I have four of them.

    Yes, I have some that are probably not exactly historically correct, but remember they varied a lot back then too. They are still good rifles and I like them.

    Sharon barrels are my favorite, every one I have is a very good shooter. I wish they were still available.

    I have 4 or 5 Sharon rifles or rifles with Sharon barrels. They are my favorite muzzleloading rifle barrels. Very good shooters, very accurate.

    79 and still shooting muzzleloaders and BPCR Still hunt a little too.

    Brown it. I don't know if that is the period correct finish or not, but I think it looks best and is probably the most durable.

    T/C Maxi Balls and Elk

    =I am getting a TC Renegade with a Green Mountain 50 caliber fast twist barrel for an elk hunt this fall. I have a maxi ball 50 caliber mold. I believe it will cast about a 370 grain bullet but I haven't weighed any yet. My question is what lead hardness should I use for elk. Pure lead or lead...
