    Muzzleloading & treestands

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened to me a couple of years ago. Missed the largest buck I've ever seen in the woods. I was fairly high in a tree stand and I'm pretty sure I shot over its back.

    Deer calls

Sounds like good advice. I was thinking I need to put the call away and not use it anymore. Taking the extreme sneaky approach seems to be the best overall way to pursue deer.

    Deer calls

I agree. I've used a doe bleat call on private land with light pressure and it did work, several times on various does. But, I've also used the same call the past 2 seasons on private land that has very heavy pressure and saw nothing.

    Back up guns

Not in the Carolinas. Only during the regular firearms season can you carry a handgun. I carry a .44 mag revolver. Sometimes I carry it as my primary weapon, but most of the time it's used as a backup during the allowed dates.

Yep, I agree. I've heard news reports that litter is back, big time. Americans are getting trashier. Lots of ********* in this country.

    Giving up for this year.

Good luck to ya! I've had the same kind of season. Been pretty slow and I'm about ready to hang it up. Like you said...there's always next year.

    Sunday Hunting?

Yes, my State has Sunday hunting. I've been several Sunday afternoons so far this year. If it wasn't for Sunday hunting, my days would be more limited.

    First deer with muzzleloader!

Good job Puff! I got my first ML deer this Fall - a doe - and it was a rush! I'm sure you'll continue to have a great time shooting and hunting with your rifle.

    With what?

I got a nice doe with my Knight Wolverine 209, .50 cal. I was shooting 100 grains of Triple 7 powder (2 pellets) and Hornady XTP Mag, 300 grain bullets. I shoot open sights and the deer was approximately 60 yards away. I'm getting ready to have some deer burritos tonight!
