    Back to the tradition

the moral of the story..., if I can take a deer wearing a capote stinking of fresh, modern, detergent, by grace of the wind direction..., so can others. Dave, that is what I am saying. Although thinking I will take steps so I don't smell as bad as the local detergent isle of your local Dollar...

Thanks Trench! That was very encouraging! I'd rather walk and stalk, and feel good about the dear I got. Not much of a "sitter" here!

    Back to the tradition

Not winning here man! Not much of a hunter. I'm the guy who everyone says "I'll give you a call and we will go out. Never happened. It's all good! I'd rather not go, sit in a tree stand with every repelent known to man. I'd rather get mine honest!

    Back to the tradition

Latest and greatest manure is well said. THEY produce these products for a reason. TO MAKE MONEY. Can't wait to put deer in the freezer some time, feeling like "I" did it, not the corn thrown down as bait.

Congrats on the bear! Figure on hunting with a ball also. Wish I had a flint lock, but percussion is the best I can do for now!

    Back to the tradition

What the heck is wrong with deer hunting without using bait, corn, etc., and not using scent hiding sprays and clothes and such? Had a lengthy argument type of discussion if you could call it that, concerning modern hunting with older "back to the basics of hunting" methods. I'd like to learn to...

    Barrel help with a stock.

Want to thank you both about Deer Creek. They do have a new barrel in stock and a pretty good price also. Also wanted to thank you guys for not poking fun at me for not really knowing much about squat when it came to the gun. I'm a newbee and used to fire it some time ago. Looking to learn what...

    Barrel help with a stock.

I believe you may be right. Unfortunately don't have the barrel. Reason I say you may be right is the gun shop I took it to said it was a CVA mountain rifle come to think of it. Your post jogged my memmory on that one! Funny thing is they said there was no way to get a barrle for it. That I...

    Barrel help with a stock.

I have a nice stock from my first muzzleloader. It was a percussion and I believe a Hawken, although I can't be sure. I bought it about 13 years ago or so. The barrel got busted, and is not available. I took the stock to a local gun shop and was told there was no way, in fact they couldn't tell...
