Advice needed on a fowler kit

As it turns out, they did have what I wanted (colerain American fowler barrel). The first person I talked with told me wrong. Pretty sure we got everything taken care of now

Advice needed on a fowler kit

I'm really interested in picking up a fowler kit. Ive been looking at the early fullstock fowler from pecatonica. Called to place the order, and it seems they only have octagon to round that doesn't taper. Would I regret a .62 that is straight on the flats and the round? Would I be better suited...

Tired of wasting lead. Bullet trap ideas?

I took a square bucket, and a piece of horse stall mat filled with sand. Horse stall mat keeps the sand from escaping. My 36 barely makes it half way. Im now considering getting a 30 gallon plastic drum, filling with sand, and using plywood baffles. Laying on its side and shooting through the...

    barrel interchange

thanks for the heads up on the buckshot. I may just go with the .36 for now. It seems to have a bigger following than the .32 and I agree that .40 just seems to big for squirrels. Maybe sometime in the future I can afford to pick up the other calibers, or better yet try and learn to put a kit...

    barrel interchange

Thanks for the replies folks. If I could go the route of having 2 barrels I would go with a .32 and a .40 I think. The .32 just for squirrel/rabbit and the .40 for everything up to deer. I may just go with a .36 and call it good. So hard to make decisions on something this expensive :idunno:

    barrel interchange

Thanks for the input. I fully intend to purchase a .54 in the future. My want for a .32 stems from that being the only small caliber I have used. I mainly want a small game rifle and was afraid that the larger calibers would be more likely to ruin meat. I have had no experience with either .36...

Thanks for the replies. So maybe I just need to save and have them finish the barrels that I would want up with the rifle

    barrel interchange

High folks, first post other than intro and its a question. I tried searching and came up with nothing. How hard would it be to take a flintlock with say a .32x13/16x40 barrel and change it out for say a .40x13/16x40 barrel? basically using same stock/lock etc and just changing barrels? I am...
