    Anyone watch Top Shot tonight?

Am I the only one that noticed that they did not use patches when they were firing the kentucky pistol? One guy had an issue with the ball rolling straight out of the barrel! Wouldn't the "expert" know that you need patches?

    breech and bolster cleaning question

I have a traditions kentucky percussion. When I clean I use the hot water method. I want to prevent rust in the breech and bolster area, but when I use oil in that area I always have missfire issues. What methods do you guys use?

    Rebrowning

I noticed on my browned barrel that the breech area of the gun did not get as browned as the rest of the gun. I already finished and applied oil to the barrel. If I degreased it could I just apply a new coat of LMF? Should I maybe sand that area a little bit?

How to brown a color case hardened lock?

that's the problem though it isn't what I would call subtle and it isn't the best color case hardening I have ever seen. It sort of looks like a kid drew on it with a few different color markers :(

How to brown a color case hardened lock?

I browned the barrel on my traditions percussion kentucky and the color case hardened lock really looks out of place. Could I brown over the color case hardening? if not what is the best way to remove it? How do you brown your locks? do you take them apart or leave them together?
