    Big Problem

Since I am new at this I noticed that when I was pushing the wads in place I had a lot of trapped air and they didn't seat all the way. When I checked the rod lenth I noticed that one barrel wasn't seated all the way. I must be doing something wrong if air is so compressed that wads are hard to...

    Big Problem

I did get it out. So you know most of the powder was removed when the worm was stuck. I ended up taking a steel rod and put a bend in it to make a hook. I slipped it down the barrel and gave it a turn. It didn't take hardly any pressure and the worm came loose. Oh well I know the school of hard...

    Big Problem

I tried using 150 PSI of air and the worm is still in there. I will try making a rod with a hook and see if I can snag it.

    Big Problem

I am just starting this and have a 12ga double. I had a missfire and tried pulling my wads with a worm. I was having problems getting the last card out when my worm must have jammed and it broke off and is stuck in the breech area. This seem strange to me as I was only using my fingers on the...

    Shot Loads for Fowlers

Someone told me that he made his shot bags from used dryer static/ softner sheets. He tied them off with thread. I have yet to try this method. I never did ask him if he snipped off the tied end when he rammed it. Anyone ever try this? Kind of a novel idea as the sheets prevent static sparks and...

    Twelve Gauge Question

I don't see any data for the 777. What are you using for your starting loads? Some one told me that 70% is about right. Any thoughts? Someone else said they wouldn't use 777 because it's not for shot guns. Who's right and where is some data to back up why you are right. WingHunter@Large

    Twelve Gauge Question

It seems getting real black powder is going to be rather hard to get for me. Any comments about Pyrodex? The only negative thing I have read is some ignition problems. Any comments about this? Pyrodex vs. Blackpowder? WingHunter@Large

    Twelve Gauge Question

I was thinking the only way this would work is with no 2 bismoth shot??? Currently I use steel with 2 or 3 shot. When we could use lead no 5 was the best. This is with modern shells.

    Twelve Gauge Question

Less powder more lead when they fly will they die? Less powder means less velosity. I would like to be able to kill a mallard from 40 yard to 20 yards. Is this going to be possible?

    Twelve Gauge Question

Musketman Thanks for the help. I am new to this whole black powder thing. I just bought a Pedersoli 12ga shotgun. For a few years now I have been tossing the idea of hunting ducks with black powder with my hunting partner. I guess I am just looking for a new challenge. I think my partner is...

    Twelve Gauge Question

Does anyone make his or her own wads for shotgun loads? I tried making a wad cutter from the base of a shotgun shell. I have some cork sheets and tried it out. It cut great but the wads are just a tad to big. Any ideas????

    Percussion Shotgun Question

Has anyone ever made a wad cutter that will cut wads for a 12ga? I found some small sheets of cork and I think it would make a great over powder wad. I tried using a 12ga. Shell and cut the plastic out and resized it. Though it cut great the wads are still too large. Any ideas? I
