    Best Animal fat for lube?

If you value your rifle do not use bacon fat or bacon grease wayyyyyy to much salt in it which leads to corrosion. My buddy did this and left it loaded for almost a month for gun season and it completely rust the bore.

thompson center muzzlelloader the serial starts with an S does that signify what model it is

The S with TC usually means Stainless Steel. However, since you didn't say the model its hard to know. But dealing and selling TC's for 30 years nothing with TC is an exact science. I have seen them take encore SS frames (usually they used blued frames) and spray them in weathershield and the...

Update to the Jawbreaker deer hunt story - Since I couldn't edit original post.

Original Post: I decided to hunt with the 20 gauge fowler this am. I was in a rush and forgot to pack the bag of roundballs. I was looking through my truck for them and realized they were on the workbench at home 45 minutes away. I sat there angry as it was about to be daylight in 30 minutes. I...

I forgot to pack the roundballs - but the substitute worked

For those that called manure here’s some measurements that might offer some validity. The white one a perfect .600 the red hot a perfect .720 hmmm looks like 20 gauge for the .600 like I claimed and the 12 gauge lovers a red hot will work. Hmm maybe I am telling the truth.

    Pedersoli flintlock not cocking

I wouldn't shoot it with out the lock fully secured. If you get a gap between the barrel and pan, and powder gets down inside the lock enough builds up and blammmm it will blow the lock and stock to pieces. Ask my buddy how he proved this is the truth. He lived but is a bit uglier than he was...

When did small caliber rifles become a thing and why?

I think they are like us today and think hmmm I got a 50, and 54 rifle and a smoothbore fowler, I now need something smaller like a 40. Well now I a 40 I need A 32, then ohh man now I want a 36 and the cyclr continues. New calibers equals new sales. The same is true with all the modern stuff...

Show N Tell your first MLer rifle

Well this is a tough one to answer. My first ML I shot was my dad's 54 cal TC Hawken when I was 5. Around 8-9 for Xmas I got a 32/45 CVA squirrel kit, so technically it was my first ML. However, I also own the original 54 TC as well and it's what I shot my first deer with too. So, who knows what...
