    Adjusting "set trigger"

Jim, I appreciate your answer and I'm sure going to check it out. One thing though, I told you my rifle was a TC when it is actually a CVA. Don't know if they're the same trigger assemb., lock etc. but I will sure check out what you said. Thanks a bunch! Bill

    Adjusting "set trigger"

(I think I posted this question already but in the wrong place. My apoligies to the management and anyone else i goofed up or confused) I have a TC .54 Big Bore Mountain rifle. I can't adjust the set trigger. I turn the screw up or down and nothing changes. When I use the "set trigger" I...

    Lyman plains pistol

In NY it is legal to use the .54 pistol. I have a Lymen Plains and although I have never killed a deer with it, I wouldn't be afraid to try if I had a clear shot at a resonable range. I'm not the worlds best shot but would be confident at 30 or 40 yards with 50 grains of pyrodex.

    wire inlay

I have built two muzzle loaders from kits. They both came out beautiful except for one thing. I tried to do some wire inletting and it came out pretty bad, mostly, I'm sure, because I had no clue what I was doing. In one rifle, some of the wire is actually coming out. Can anyone give me any...

    Re-browning my .54

My old CVA Big Bore Mountain needs to be re-browned. It is real patcy and blotchie. How do I go about this? Do I have to take it all the way down to the white first? What do you folks consider a good brand chemical for this? Thanks in advance for any tips you can give me.

    Removing Rust

Appreciate the replys from Dan and BillnPatty. I got the seasoning idea years ago from a Muzzle Loader manufacturer. They were pushing one of their other products. I have always kept my barrels spotlessly clean and I thought I did nothing different this year. Lent one to my son, I carried...

    Removing Rust

I'm a new guy. Found Muzzleloading Forum while looking for a way to remove rust from a Mz. Loading barrels. Found the silliest solution, tried it and by golly it worked. Plugged the nipple's, filled the barrels with a mixture of 1 part molasses to 7 parts water, let it set for 2 days, cleaned...

    New Guy

I'm a new guy. Name is Bill. I've been shooting black powder for years. Made two from kits, a CVA 54 cal. "big bore mountain rifle". Also a CVA .54 Hawken. Taken deer with both but I guess I'm a little partial to the .54. Maybe 'cause it's my first. Always ready for new ideas etc.
