    Kentucky/Pennsylvania Rifle Identification

    Joseph Mills & Peter White, of Colerain Township, PA, (1820's) both used the large "man in the moon" inlay...and Mills used it above the cheek piece on several of his rifles.

    L. Biles, gun maker; Bucks Co. 1820

    Hello, I am new to this site, so forgive any rule violations, but: I recently acquired a buck & ball with the gun makers inscription "L. Biles". I believe it was a flint, contemporary revision to a percussion. (Askew & Paxson lock)probably made in the 1810-20's. I am trying to find out more...
