    Lanolin for rust.

I had no idea that lanolin had any uses in the firearm areas, but it does make some sense.... I never would have experimented with it if there hadn't been these ideas presented on here..

    Latest Acquisition - .58 Harper's Ferry Pistol

Wow !! That looks like a lot of fun to get out and play with ! If I was a little younger and had that in my hand , I'd be out trying to nail a feral hog with it !!

Is the Pedersoli Trade Gun a "Tack Driver?"

I really enjoy your videos, but a guy shooting at small targets without some well set up sights is not something I can see being successful. !!

    DUDE, SMOKED HIM!!!???

I've watched a lot of videos of hunters that dropped magnicifant animals, and reacted in a manner where a normal person should be. A guy should appreciate the prize he won and feel the magnificance of coming out of the situation with an animal to be proud of.

i figured out why i missed the doe when i the video

Lots of critics out there, but I have to respect a guy that would step forward and admit his mistakes. I have no doubt you will learn from this and next time nail one !!

    TC Hawken reworked

I've owned a bunch of those TC Hawkens over the years and never regretted a one of them. I just think they are the best muzzlelstuffers a guy can play with.....they are attractive and shoot good and easy to work on when one needs something. I sure would like to see them back being sold again !!

What do you use to keeps nipples from seizing?

I've always just used a little touch of Bore Butter on one and don't over tighten them. I've never had a problem with one .....

    Pregnant Doe

I've found a baby occasionally when deer hunting. Where you will really see the babies is when you are out hog hunting !!!

    1/48 twist & round ball?

I wouldn't necessarily say the 1-48 went bad......nowdays there are just opinions all over the place !! It sorta seems like no matter what a guy starts a conversation over when it comes to this stuff, somebody else will have a different way of doing it, or different products likes lubes and...

Help needed on glow in dark front sights

Gosh...with those big old hogs you shoot, it must be hard to miss one !! When hunting hogs at night, I always have a light or two in the area, and when there is movement, they get brighter. I've shot a lot of hogs just using those lights. I get them at Harbor Freight and they are solar powered...

I new so please excuse this stupid question

I agree, a guy should have a good supply of flints stored away. That one in the pic does look like it might have struck the edge of the barrel, so always make sure they clear the barrel when they are in the fired position.

    tough week hunting

Man oh Man !! Normally when you are posting it's a big old hog or two.........I hope you and mother nature get things together !!

    cabelas 58cal perc hawken

I had one of those for years and it never gave me any problems. I would shoot 70 gr, of 3f with a rb and it always shot just fine. Pretty tough rifle !!

    1F

I bought a bunch of it once and was using it for regular rifle loads, but tried it in larger muzzleloaders and had no problems. 70-80 grains in a 58 or 62 caliber under a prb and you are good to go.

    Clean with paper towel?

Sorry fellas, but I just can't see the advantages to using paper over cloth patches. Actually it's probably cheaper to use your old tee shirts than going out and buying rolls of paper. At least with the cotton there isn't such a big chance of pieces of paper hiding out in places where it could...

    Hunting Squirrels w/Big Bore...

Not much meat on the front end of a squirrel anyway......if you don't shoot em' in the butt...no problem !!

Has anyone used 1F in a rifle ?

I've used it in shotgun loads, and in a .58 as well. The .58 I loaded 80 Gr. of 1f in it using a RB, and it just worked fine. I used to load some of the unmentionables with black powder as the club I shot at we would end each match with a cartridge gun using black powder.

    1/48 twist & round ball?

The 1-48 is basically considered the mid point as far as twist. A guy could get slightly better results, depending on load, ball size, and all the other factors....but basically a 1-48 can be set up and do a good job with either RB or conical. It is just in the middle where it can be made to...

Which pistol would be used with my rifle ?

I think I'd be searching around for a Lyman .50 caliber....tough as all get out and shoot good too....
