I really enjoy my underhmer, all 32lb of it. Built by Bill Large in the late 1940’s. I call it the Ma Deuce as it shoots .504 ball

    Bore Scope Results - Interpretation?

I would try dawn and water lube, you might be surprised at the results And no swabbing should be needed with a wet patch and that lube

Please help me identify my family heirloom.

I see zero reason to not replace the missing inlays, and patch box parts. Of course done properly I may have some of the missing inlays, or close, they could be worked down to fit I can take a picture of all the o es I have

Charles Towne Long Rifles Range Goes Silent

    Jerry Kirklin Rifle

I was thinking maybe the case it shipped in had the original box, and it does. Looking over the box I found the original shipping label that was covered over. The case was shipped to Jerry from Brownells on Sep 4 '82. So I am assuming Jerry built this rile back then. Why it was never used...

    Jerry Kirklin Rifle

Some more details on this rifle My guess on Getz barrel was correct, and build quality as expected. This rifle has not ever been used, not a mark anywhere. The sights haven't been touched, rear notch still needs cut to see front sight. Bedded in breech area, under lugs all slotted etc...

Was Dutch right about wiping between shots?

Yes this! This method allows you more shooting time, instead of unneeded gimmicks. No wiping ever, and off hand! Not my target shot by a member of our club

    Jerry Kirklin Rifle

Another nice rifle built by Jerry in .50. It is pristine, and don't think it has even been shot. I wish I knew the year he built it
