Show N Tell your first MLer rifle

My first BP ML, was (and is) a Zoli /Navy Arms .58 caliber “Buffalo Hunter”) I purchased in 1969/70-time-frame, in Alaska. It fires a punkin-size ball, or a thumb-size Mine Ball. It's a joy to shoot, I load it with 60-70 gr 2Fg, slap a musket cap on, take aim and fire. The front end issues a...

SOLD - Pending funds AMR double shotgun

Is this still for sale? If so what is the lowest you can go on it? I'm on a fixed income, e.g., SS, and would have a hard time with $600.

It fits into the breech, load BP & Shot/Ball from muzzle, poke a 209 primer in adapter and voila a muzzle loading...

    Smooth bore recoil?

There should be no difference in the reccoil of a , for instance, round ball shot at 1,200 fps and a load of shot weighing one ounce at the same velocity, assuming the weight of the guns are also equal. equal and opposite reactions, and all of that. But, the shape of the stock, how the gun is...

Phrases and sayings born in muzzleloading that we still use today.

In the military, on the range, they still use the expression: "On the firing line, ball ammunition, lock and load."

    Ignition while loading

Safety can be taken so far, then common sense has to take over. If a cap or flint hasn't been struck over the touch hole in twenty minutes or more, you shouldn't have to worry about the presence of glowing embers. But, for safety's sake, run your ramrod down the barrel and notice the position of...
