    Load Database

There is more of what a gun likes for its accuracy besides loads. It could be it does not like the way it is being held, type of sights. I think there is more accurate firearms than there are shooters that can shoot them accurately.

Asking for help with a Rifle Shoppe Baker Rifle: groups at 50 yards have become dreadful.

For me I have found that with most flintlock shooters that no flinch and follow thru account for a lot of unknown inaccuracy. agree 100% but may I also add that in a modern fire arm from the time you pull the trigger, till ignition, and the projectile leaves the barrel is approx. 4.1 to10.5...

Best way to unload after an unsuccessful hunt?

No problem leaving them loaded over the hunting seasons I have here in Pa, say approximately 2 months. Just do not expose to extreme cold to hot temps as much as possible, condensation, it can be a game changer.

Hard, brittle, and fast PRB for more damage?

As far as a slow or fast round ball, I always found the faster I drove it, the more the penetration, the slower I drove it the less penetration.:dunno:

Hard, brittle, and fast PRB for more damage?

A patched round ball is what it is, fast or slow, you may change the composition of the lead, from soft to hard or hard to soft for more or less penetration, which I feel does not do as much as people feel it does, but ballistically you got what you got, it will never compare to a jacketed...

    flintlock purchased from friend.

Found this from a u/Matpen_78 So my great uncle, Charles Kroeger donated a number of muzzleloading rifles and a pair of pistols to a certain organization. His intent was for this club to be caretakers of the guns; shoot them, display them, just simply enjoy them. After he...

Flintlock accuracy and need help finding load

I have heard tales, and seen wallet targets, and pictures of flintlock muzzleloaders shooting a patched round ball into touching cloverleafs at a 100 yards, but I have yet seen it done in real time. I think that people expect accuracy performance from a muzzleloader to be on power with their...
