    Velocity affect accuracy ?

Exactly. When I am doing a custom ML or SML build, I take the weight & length of the bullet that I want to use, at the velocity I want & I run twist rate calculations for the right twist rate of that barrel. When its done, I'll start doing my load development on the low end & work up from there...

    Canoe gun.

Yes, thats a great option. You can pick out each component of your gun, so you'll get a barrel, lock & trigger, & stock of your choosing, all put together. Thats where my English Rigby tribute gun came from.

    Velocity affect accuracy ?

The statements in parentheses is quoted from a previous post in this thread. I disagree with it completely as well. Read the last sentence in that quote. Thank you for your post. No one would understand this topic more than a competitive shooter.

    Canoe gun.

Thats awesome!. We will be going to Ft White WMA or Watermelon Pond ( when its open ) and to the Lower Suwannee Nat Reserve. I like very close to Osceola Nat Forest, we were just there & at Ft White a few days ago. We are already working on how we are gonna get to where the hogs are & how the...

    Velocity affect accuracy ?

Even if it was meant directly at me personally, I have been putting on my big boy britches every morning for a very long time. So its ok man. I got a lil chuckle at your comment, at how accurate it was, right down to the " oxymoron". I lol at myself for using that terminology myself knowing...

    Canoe gun.

My friend ( and fellow member in here & in MML ) just got his Greenhoe canoe out & put to good use. We've only been fishing in it, but our plans are to take it into WMA land that most ppl can not access to ho hog hunting with our sidelocks. He prefers a sidelock, I prefer modern inlines or...

    Velocity affect accuracy ?

" the objective is to find the load that produces the flatest trajectory. That should be that specific rifle's most accurate load. Whatever muzzle velocity that results from that load is its most accurate muzzle velocity ". Yeah, he contradicted himself a lil bit there & neither statement was...

    Velocity affect accuracy ?

NIce shooting. We were just doing some .22 target shooting at my home range last Fri. My brother competes in Germany with his Anschutz .22 at 50m. I've competed at a club level with him & I shoot pretty dang good, like the group you have there, & I got schooled buddy Let me tell ya. I learned as...

    Velocity affect accuracy ?

I'd agree with you 100% there. When I'm deer hunting, or, whatever - hunting, I deff like to let my " Magnumitis " out to play. I'll rationalize losing a small amount of accuracy ( example; a sub moa load for a 1 - 1.5 moa load for a much hotter load with alot more velocity. I know, I know...

    Velocity affect accuracy ?

Optimal accuracy is achieved by pushing the projectile at a velocity that times the bullet exiting the muzzle at a specific point in the harmonic wave. Correct twist rate either the bullet you’re using plays a role in the accuracy you’ll get. But taking all the technical aspects out of this...

    Everything .40 Cal. Muzzleloader

Yep, for the guys capable of making them perform to their potential, they really are incredible. To those that can’t, should stick to the bigger calibers. Back when the .45 1:18 Gibbs ruled the long range bench rest competitive muzzleloading world, the only gun to outshine them was when Gibbs...

    Skychief question

Nice 25yd pattern. I have an older Pedersoli SxS 12ga with 30” barrels ( ( imp/mod) and I’ve tried all kinds of diff loads -4 diff shot sizes, diff wads, diff wad types, diff loading procedures, including the skychief loads & never got a pattern like that. I quit trying to make a turkey gun out...

    bullet for fast twist 45?

I didn’t not know why I didn’t think of this when we were shooting it Sunday bro, but for a dang good, cheap, light bullet to hunt, plink, ring steel, you can’t beat the 10mm XTP 200g or even a 180g. I shot lots n lots of them out of my Seneca .40. I’ll grab a handful of them next time we shoot...
