Would this be an example of curly Maple or is it bird's-eye maple I'm really embarrassed at my lack of knowledge on this subject. Also the brass has numbers on it like lot numbers or something from an auction house is that normal or even relevant ?- Br549

I was given this rifle about 20 years ago by my now ex father in law(who has never given me a functioning firearm) so I thought it was fake and stood it in a corner and forgot about it until last week when I saw it in my son's room,in a corner!- Br549
