Stll looking for the right 20 ga/62 cal flintlock shotgun, fowler or fusil. Prefer the shorter barrel (<40") fowler styles. Can also do one in 28 ga. For the right gun in the right price range, I might also do a percussion.

Still looking. Probably prefer a fowler but would also go with a shotgun. Seems like there are more than a few percussion shotguns available over on gunbroker and other similar sites, but flintlocks are rare.

Looking for recommendations on a good book or online article on the history & development of flintlock Jaeger rifles. Have my eye on a really nice used one, but am not sure what to look for relative to what they should look like depending on the period they were built.

Nice looking piece. What is the barrel length and why did you choose to go with that length? Have been looking at picking up a flintlock Fowler, but can't seem to decide if I want an earlier version with a 40-42" barrel or something from later in the period with a 36-38" barrel.

There was a deluxe flintlock model over on GunBroker that sold for a touch over $1400 last night. Thought about it hard, but decided to go a different route and look for a single barrel .62/20 smooth bore instead. Good luck on your search.

It is a Pietta. The wedge is flush on the right. Is there any way I can ge the barrel off with the wedge still in this position? Not familiar with the whole arbor issue, but it appears to be a bit of a longstanding problem. Is there any hope for this thing or should I just write it off?

Assume you ground down a rod to make the wedge tool. Or is it something that is commercially available?

Thanks for checking. Got my numbers off the Dixie Gun Works site rather than the actual Pedersoli site. The Kentucky barrel is in fact listed as 35 1/16" on the Dixie site vs 35 9/16" on the Pedersoli site.
